Originally from Georgia, Dr. Southerland moved to Texas in 1999 to open his practice in Arlington. He and his wife Kimberly have two children, Jake and Kylie. He is a past Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Podiatry Institute, a non-profit organization dedicated to education in the profession. He is currently serving as an editor of the 4th edition McGlamry’s Comprehensive Textbook of Foot and Ankle Surgery. He has been involved with medical missions with Healing the Children, Inc to Central America and has traveled to Australia numerous times to teach surgery.
