Ultrasound:
The use of ultrasound imaging in the office allows us to better:

• distinguish fluid-filled cysts from solid cysts
• detect abscesses, cysts, tumors, and effusions
• evaluate joints, ligaments, soft tissue masses, intermetarsal neuromas, and stress fractures of the metatarsals
• evaluate tendons for tears, inflammation, tenosynovitis, tendonitis
• aid in diagnostic and therapeutic injections in joints of the foot and ankle
• aid in the diagnosis and removal of foreign bodies

Digital X-ray System:
The use of a digital x-ray system in the office allows us to better:

• make an effective and accurate diagnosis
• manipulate digital images of the foot and ankle
• obtain clearer images when compared to traditional X-ray techniques
• provide images to other physicians and to patients by placing the images on a computer disc
• explain the images to the patient because they can be linked to laptops in the patient rooms

Electronic Medical Records:
The use of electronic medical records in the office as opposed to paper charts, allows us to better:

• communicate efficiently with primary care physicians and other referring physicians about the care we provide to their patients
• order and receive laboratory results making it more efficient for both the office and the patient
• keep all x-rays, ultrasound images, laboratory and culture results, and office notes in one place on the computer that make up the electronic record
• prescribe medications that can be sent to pharmacies electronically in certain areas
